Flight - R. Zemeckis 2012

There is always something august about Denzel Washington, whichever role he is playing. Yet, it's certainly not a given to look majestic as a downtrodden junkie and alcoholic, albeit an airline pilot.

After a nerve-wrecking plane-crash in the first half-hour, this film grows into a very conventional narrative on addiction. Unfortunately, we have all seen quite enough recovering alcoholics on film to know exactly how it's going to end way before it finally does.
